Professor of the History and Theory of Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Author of "Digital Stockholm Syndrome in the Post-Ontological Age (University of Minnesota Press, 2016).
This panel considers the status of images within contemporary visual culture, identifying prehistories to digital characteristics, such as encoding, transmission, reproduction, and glitch.
This panel tracks changing notions of authorship at a time when creative production is increasingly mediated by digital platforms, designed for the internet, and generated by users.
This panel addresses the ways in which creators of content build an audience through web-based platforms, and how aesthetic experience is fundamentally changed by digital production.
